Opportunities Credit Union is Vermont's only community development credit union. Through our unique combination of innovative financial services and financial counseling we have positively impacted over 19,500 Vermonters by providing affordable housing, micro business loans, low cost loans for transportation and energy improvements along with many unique products for small savers. We wrap around these products financial education (and where appropriate one-on one counseling) to reinforce timely payments, budgeting and savings habits. See our 20 year impact on Vermonters. Deposits are insured by the NCUA (up to $250,000). We are a state chartered financial institution offering a range of financial services for low to moderate income Vermonters.

- Select a tax deductible donation of the interest earned on your deposit, click here.
- Select a "Community Impact Investment". This investment option allows Opportunities to maximize it's impact on the community by providing low cost funding. You as the investor preserve your principal and agree to accept a 0% rate. Please click here to sign up for this investment option
Investing at Opportunities Credit Union is easy as 1-2-3!
- If you are already an existing member or investor, please skip to step #2. If you are a new member, please fill out the Community Investor Application.
- Select a Community Development term and rate from our Rate Sheet or select the "Community Impact" Rate.
- Make a photocopy of your current photo I.D. (driver's license).
- Write a check payable to Opportunities Credit Union for the amount of your Community Investment Deposit plus $35 ($25 opening deposit for your share account, $5 to purchase your share and a $5 membership fee). (Example: You would like a Community Investment of $10,000. Your check should be for $10,035.)
- Mail or drop off your Community Investor Application, a copy of your I.D. and a check made payable to Opportunities Credit Union.
- Drop Off:Opportunities Credit Union, 92 North Avenue, Burlington, VT (At the corner of North Ave and North St across from Burlington College)
- Mailed to: Opportunities Credit Union, 92 North Avenue, Burlington, VT 05401 (Please notarize your Application/signatures and ID prior to mailing them to us.)
