(That Won’t Break the Bank)
1. Ditch the Stove
This appliance generates a lot of heat. Instead of cooking large meals, like casseroles, try for cooler, room temperature dishes like salads. Another bonus to smaller meals? They’re much easier to metabolize, unlike larger meals that generate more body heat.
We recommend staying cool with this Mando and Black Bean Salad:

2. Choose Sheets Wisely
When choosing sheets think of natural fibers, like cotton. They are the most breathable and will wipe away sweat keeping you cool and dry. Materials like sateen and silk may seem like a good idea, but they actually will trap in heat since they drape so closely to your body. Cotton will allow for more air circulation.
3. Purchase a Chillow
A clever little invention, the Chillow is a pillow that stays cool through water circulation. What’s even better is that you can get them on Amazon for less than $20. Chill away!

4. DIY Air Conditioner
Create your own air conditioner by placing a desk or standing fan in front of a bowl of ice. As the fan runs, the ice melts, all that cool, misty air will be blown around the room as you sleep.
5. Turn off Lights
Not only will turning off your lights save you tons of money, it’ll keep your house cooler. Even eco-friendly bulbs give off heat, so try and take advantage of natural light while we still have it! Even after dark, try minimal lighting. Think, romance!
