Trying to spruce up your house while staying frugal? We’re here to help!
Clean a Stained Tub
Having a stained tub can be an eyesore and reflect poorly on your hygiene. Combining equal amounts of cream of tartar, baking soda, and lemon juice, make a paste. Then, rub the mixture into the stain with your fingers or a soft cloth. Let it sit for a half hour, rinse with water, and bam! A clean tub.
Install more storage
Running out of storage space can be both a nuisance for you and not so aesthetically pleasing at the same time. Clearing counter space by adding floating shelves to your messy room is an inexpensive fix to the problem, and will make you seem like a more organized person! Floating shelves run from as little as $5 each.
Plump up Flattened Down Cushions
Tired of sleeping on flattened-down pillows but can afford to get new ones? The answer is the sun! How, you say? First, make sure the pillow is out of its case, otherwise the sun will fade the coloring. Then, put the pillow on a towel, and let the sun soak up the moisture. Thanks mother nature!
Scuffed Linoleum
Sick of staring at your scuffed floors but can’t afford to replace the whole thing? The simple solution might be in your bathroom vanity. Find the spot you want to fix, and rub toothpaste on it. Then, rub it with a dry cloth or erase. Or you can spray WD-40 on a towel and rub the spot lightly, making sure to degrease the area afterwards with liquid dishwashing soap and water. And tah-dah! Your floors are sparkling clean.
