Pre Purchase Home Ownership Financial Mentoring

Buying a home is one of the most important purchases in your life. One of our trained financial mentors will assess your financial situation to see if you are ready for homeownership, as well as, to guide you through the process and provide you with valuable information in order to understand how to be a successful homeowner. Being financially educated will prepare you for the many steps needed to succeed. Working with a financial mentor will help you to understand the importance of good credit, the roles of the home inspector, lender, appraiser and the mortgage and closing process.


Post Purchase Home Ownership Financial Mentoring

Keeping your home and protecting your investment in this asset can be challenging. Our Financial Mentor will work with you to develop savings for unexpected repairs, losses in income and personal emergencies. This will help you to monitor your debt, increase your savings and protect your credit for other borrowing needs.


Foreclosure & Default Intervention

If you are at risk of foreclosure or fear losing your home; early intervention will help you understand the choices available to you and to plan for your future.
The possibility of losing your home can be devastating and overwhelming. Our Certified Financial Mentors have the resources and tools to help you navigate the process. Together you will discuss options and alternatives available to your unique situation.


$avvy Seniors Benefit Checkup

Aged 55 and over?  Not sure if you are taking advantage of all of the benefits available to you? Struggling to find ways to meet your expenses and daily living needs? Need to find a part-time job? Want some money saving tips?

Working with a Financial Mentor you will complete a benefits check-up questionnaire and will receive a detailed report listing social security, Medicare/Medicaid, and health care benefits you may be eligible for, as well as, programs for money saving, social activities or living with a disability.  Your customized report will guide you in accessing program that may interest you.


Credit Building & Repair

Is a lack of credit or a low credit score preventing you from owning or renting a home, buying a vehicle or obtaining affordable financing? Our Financial Mentors can assist you in rebuilding and repairing your credit. A healthy credit score & history are a necessity in today’s financial world. Credit Scores play an important role in your ability to rent an apartment, get a job and qualify for a loan.  We will assist you in identifying the factors that contribute to your credit score and help you develop an action plan to address issues negatively affecting your credit score.


Budgeting

Can’t seem to make ends meet? Not sure where your money is going? We can assist you with creating a budget that will work within your current financial situation and teach you ways to save and get back on track. Using a budget consistently can help you save, manage over-spending and meet your daily/ weekly or monthly expenses. Our Financial Mentors will work with you to develop a realistic budget to fit your current financial situation.
